What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for relieving stress that also promotes healing. The word Reiki also applied to the beautiful healing energy that flows through your entire being when introduced to your body by a Reiki practitioner.

It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through all of us. The state of your life force energy directly affects your health and quality of life. If it is low, dealing with stress is difficult, you may not sleep well, and you are more likely to become ill.

The word Reiki (“ray-key”) translates to “spiritually guided life force energy.” Receiving Reiki helps strengthen your immune system and restore the natural balance of your life force energy, so that physical symptoms and emotional distress clear naturally.

Holy Fire® Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit. Its many benefits include relaxation and feelings of peace, security, well-being and joy.

Holy Fire® Reiki FAQs

Q:  Who can receive Reiki?

A:  Reiki is beneficial and safe for everyone. Because it is spiritually guided, Reiki can never cause harm. It is safe for people of all ages, including senior citizens, pregnant women and babies. It is beneficial for every living being, including animals and plants.

Q: How does Reiki work?

A: According to the principles of physics our physical bodies are not really solid, but are a matrix of energy patterns and frequencies. Because of this we are able to change the patterns and frequencies by introducing pure, high-vibrational Reiki energy into the body.

Q: Is Reiki just as effective online?

A: Yes, you can receive Reiki healing and learn Reiki just as effectively online. It has always been possible to send Reiki at a distance — to a person across the room or across the world. In response to COVID Holy Fire® Reiki was given an upgrade. The energy is now even stronger than before (both in person and online).

Q: What are the origins of Reiki?

A: Usui Reiki, the predominant form of Reiki in the world today, was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan in 1922.  He treated and taught his system of Reiki to more than 2,000 people during his lifetime, most notably to Dr. Chujiro Hayashi. In 1937 Hawaii-born Hawayo Takata, Dr. Hayashi's student, brought Reiki to West.*

Q: What is Holy Fire® Reiki?

A: Holy Fire® Reiki is a relatively new form of Reiki, first introduced by the International Center for Reiki Training in 2014. Holy Fire energy comes from a higher level of consciousness and is noticeably more refined. It is powerful yet gentle and provides purification, healing, guidance and empowerment.

Q: Is Usui Reiki part of Holy Fire® Reiki?

A: Yes, Holy Fire® Reiki is based on the Usui Reiki system of healing. All four of the Usui Reiki Symbols are part of the Holy Fire® Reiki system. Holy Fire® also uses the Usui Reiki scanning techniques, treatment protocols and precepts (or ideals).

Q: How do you learn Reiki?

A: Reiki can easily be learned by anyone in Reiki certification classes. These classes include attunements (also called placements) that connect students to Reiki energy, giving them the ability to work with it. At the Master Level, Holy Fire® energy is transmitted to students through a series of ignitions. No prior experience or special skills are needed, only the desire to be a conduit for Reiki healing energy.

Q: How many levels of training are there?

A: There are four levels of training in the Holy Fire® III system. The first three levels are Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki classes. The 1st level to give Reiki treatments to yourself and family, the 2nd to send distance Reiki and offer Reiki to clients, the 3rd to practice at the Master level and teach Reiki training classes. The 4th level (only taught to Reiki Masters) is the Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® Master training which qualifies you to teach all Holy Fire® classes and give treatments using the eight Karuna healing symbols

Q: Is Reiki religious?

A: No. Although Reiki is spiritual in nature, there is no belief required to learn it or receive it. It is an energy available to everyone who chooses to experience it or learn it.  People all over the world, of many different religions and spiritual paths, currently use Reiki.
